Originally an east coaster, I migrated to Washington after meeting my husband while backpacking on the Pacific Crest Trail. We moved to Leavenworth in 2003, because we knew it would be a special place to raise our two kids, now in middle school and high school. I hold a Bachelor's and Master's in biology and worked for the Forest Service, but while my children were young, I devoted my time to freelance writing and coaching running and cross country skiing. I'm excited to help coordinate the great efforts of Cascade Medical Foundation. In my spare time I write, run and ski competitively, coach and enjoy backpacking and sailing with my family.
I love the sayings shared by my wise Latin teacher:
Carpe diem -- Seize the day
Alea iacta est -- The die is cast
