Meet Cascade Medical's 2026 scholarship recipients

Mark Judy fund awards seven staff with training, education scholarships

The Mark Judy Memorial Caregiver Education Fund is supporting seven Cascade Medical employees in 2026 as they advance their skills through professional training, certifications and degree programs. More than $8,000 in scholarships will be distributed across four departments: the clinic, laboratory, EMS and the rehab center.

“We are ecstatic with the caliber of the scholarship applications this year,” Cascade Medical Foundation Board Member Bob Adamson said before announcing the awards in late March. “This is an excellent group of people. They are forward thinking, community minded and are looking for ways to go above and beyond. We’re honored that we can continue Mark’s legacy and offer them some assistance.”

Now in its third year, the fund was created to honor the late Mark Judy, former Cascade Medical hospital administrator and Foundation board member. Support has grown each year, continuing Mark’s commitment to investing in the people who care for our community.

This year’s recipients are:

  • Courtney Grimm, clinic manager – pursuing a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration.
  • Aisha Houghton, clinical social worker – pursuing certification in Gottman Method training.
  • Katie Larsen, lab technician – pursuing a bachelor’s degree in laboratory science. (This is the second year she's received a scholarship.)
  • Katelin Limon, dietician – pursuing certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration in weight management for children and adults.
  • Sarah Peery, occupational therapist – pursuing certifications in trauma-informed interventions and cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • Kayla Talley, clinic nurse – pursuing Spanish language coursework from Wenatchee Valley College.
  • Byron Walker, EMS – pursuing paramedic training at Central Washington University.
