In 2009, we purchased digital mammography equipment for Cascade Medical so that our community can have access to this lifesaving diagnostic tool.
A mammogram is the preferred diagnostic test to find breast cancer in its early stages. It is performed by using a low-dose X-ray to scan the breasts for any abnormalities or changes in the breast tissue.
For women ages 50 to 74, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends a mammography screening once every two years. For younger and older women, the decision is a personal one. Talk to your doctor about when mammography screenings are right for you.
