Community turns out to support fundraising concert featuring Bandits of the Animal Kingdom at Silvara Cellars
The pieces all fit into place Sept. 20 to create the most successful Jive Time in the Cascades fundraising concert to date, generating more than $24,500 for Cascade Medical Foundation.
The smoke cleared and the weather held for the Saturday evening event at Silvara Cellars featuring popular local band Bandits of the Animal Kingdom. Attendance topped 180, nearly double the number of tickets sold at any of the previous three Jive Time concerts.
“The unexpected clear skies and word of mouth created an influx of sales on the day of the event. We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout,” said CMF Board Member Shannon Keller, who led the Jive Time Committee. “The music was definitely dance-worthy. The wine from Silvara was superb and Chop Chop Provisions provided delicious Mediterranean food that was a big hit. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time!”
Attendees generously participated in fundraising events throughout the evening, including purchasing gift cards donated by more than 30 local businesses at the “Buy It Now Board” and by donating directly to the Foundation as part of the Pass the Bed Pan event.
The combination of ticket sales, donations and event sponsorships raised $14,500 — an event record. The total then grew by $10,000 above that with a generous donation from a community member who wanted to help complete the $70,500 current campaign to purchase a cardiac monitor for Cascade Medical’s Mobile Integrated Health vehicle.
“We’re very grateful to this community member for their enthusiasm and generosity,” Keller said. “Their donation went above and beyond in helping us purchase this integral component of the Mobile Integrated Health Program that enhances medical care in our rural community by reaching patients in their homes.”
The MIH vehicle, funded in part by proceeds from last year’s Jive Time, will now be equipped with a state-of-the-art cardiac monitor, used routinely to check a patient’s heart rate and rhythm, blood pressure and pulse. The new device also will offer telehealth options, ultrasound and video laryngoscope, all in one unit.
The cardiac monitor is CMF’s second project this year, aligning with the nonprofit’s mission to enhance and financially support Cascade Medical’s ability to deliver quality healthcare to the community. In June, CMF completed fundraising for the “Clinic Bundle,” providing a bladder scanner, a point-of-care ultrasound machine, specialty exam tables and more for Cascade Medical’s Family Practice Clinic.
“A shout out to everyone who helped make Jive Time a success, including our volunteer board members and sponsors,” Keller said.
Major sponsors included Kahler Mountain Club, Silvara Cellars, Cashmere Valley Bank, Leavenworth/Pine Village KOA, Mike West Leavenworth Realty, Ogden Murphy Wallace Attorneys, Just Plain Grocery & Gas and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group.
“Stay tuned for details on Jive Time 2026, which is promising to be as exciting as this year’s event,” Keller said. “You might want to get your tickets early!”
Since its founding in 1992, Cascade Medical Foundation has provided more than $2 million for vital medical equipment for Cascade Medical. For details, go to cascademedicalfoundtion.org.
