Cascade Medical Foundation has been awarded a $2,500 grant from the Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group Community Health Partnership Fund, managed by the Confluence Health Foundation.
This fund, co-supported by Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group, provides community support to organizations and causes in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan counties that enhance health and wellness and address the social determinants of health.
Cascade Medical Foundation applied for the grant earlier this summer to help purchase a cardiac monitor for Cascade Medical’s Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) vehicle. The MIH program delivers in-home post-hospital visits for Cascade Medical patients and provides monitoring for elderly individuals and those with complex or chronic conditions across the rural hospital district.
Cardiac monitors are essential for EMS and MIH patients, allowing clinicians to check heart rate and rhythm, blood pressure and pulse. The new device will also include telehealth capabilities, ultrasound and a video laryngoscope — all in one unit.
This grant helped CMF reach its $70,590 fundraising goal for the cardiac monitor. Last year, the Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group Community Health Partnership Fund awarded a $10,000 grant that helped purchase the MIH vehicle itself.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to Confluence Health, Wenatchee Valley Medical Group, and the Confluence Health Foundation for their generous support,” Cascade Medical Foundation Chairman Rich Adamson said. “We are excited to see this equipment get put to work and grateful to everyone who contributed to making this possible.”
