Community CPR Classes return

Cascade Medical’s Emergency Medical Services Department is offering a free community CPR class on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, at the Leavenworth Fire Station Community Room, 228 Chumstick Highway, Leavenworth.

The class runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Two more classes are planned later in the year — on April 22 and Sept. 30 — at the same time and location.

The classes, geared for age 8 to adult, are for anyone interested in learning to save a life. Instruction covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques, which use chest compressions to keep blood flowing after someone's heart stops beating.

Starting CPR quickly can double or triple the chances of survival of someone suffering from a cardiac arrest. The class also provides an introduction and overview of the automated external defibrillators (AEDs), devices that can help restart a heart that has stopped.

New CPR guidelines released in late 2025 by the American Heart Association will be incorporated into the classes.

Class size is limited to 20 people. To sign up, send an email to [email protected].
